Lindbergh High named one of top schools in U.S.

Lindbergh High School once again has been ranked as one of the top-performing high schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

The magazine ranked Lindbergh High No. 8 in the state of Missouri and awarded the school a silver medal of distinction for student achievement.

U.S News examined 22,000 high schools nationwide to determine the best of the best, based on student reading and math proficiency, percentage of economically disadvantaged students and college readiness and performance.

LHS offers both Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate options for students to help them prepare for college and earn college credit.

In addition, 88 percent of students at LHS achieved proficiency in English II in 2011, while 73 percent scored proficient or better in Algebra 1.

“We are proud of our rank in U.S. News and World Report, and it would not be possible without strong teachers at every level in our district, from elementary through high school,” Principal Ron Helms stated in a news release. “Teachers and parents play a key role in making sure our students achieve at the highest levels possible.”
