Lindbergh High School and Concord Elementary School have been crowned the Best High School and Best Elementary School in Missouri, respectively, by Start-Class, an education research site powered by Graphiq.

StartClass used the most recent data from the National Center for Education Statistics and the Civil Rights Data Col-lection to make its top picks from public high schools throughout the country.

High schools were ranked by exam passing rates, school environment, disciplinary actions, number of students who take the ACT and SAT, number of students who pass Advanced Placement exams and graduation rate. Elementary schools were ranked by exam passing rates, school environment and disciplinary actions.

“Concord is such an amazing community of learners, families and teachers,” Principal Angie Moehlmann stated in a news release. “At our school, we are so fortunate to have caring and dedicated teachers who are willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of our students. I feel very proud of the many accomplishments of our school community.”

Both LHS and Concord are National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.

The LHS Class of 2017 achieved an ACT average composite score of 23 this year, compared with Missouri’s average composite score of 19.7 for this year’s graduating seniors.

“As principal, I am proud when any group recognizes the outstanding work done by teachers, students and support staff that help to make Lindbergh High School such a great place to learn,” Principal Eric Cochran stated in the release. “We strive each day to provide a culture of excellence to this community and to support the growth of each individual learner.”
