Students, staff and administrators celebrated the grand opening of Lindbergh High School’s cafeteria expansion Friday.
The expansion will add much-needed additional seating for students, who in recent years have been crowded out of the main cafeteria, sitting at tables in hallways and commons areas and even on the floor.
The cafeteria addition will seat roughly 430 students. It is one of several growth-related improvements at Lindbergh High made possible by voter approval of the Proposition G bond issue in April 2014.
These improvements, designed to address aggressive student enrollment growth at the high school, also include replacement of the original Gym 3 bleachers and wood floor, two additional science classrooms, additional seating in the football stadium and stadium restroom completion.
