Lindbergh freshman named Student Ambassador

Lindbergh High School student Brandon Appel recently was named a Student Ambassador by People to People International.

Appel will represent Lindbergh High and the United States while touring Europe during the summer of 2008. Student Ambassadors will explore and study communities, schools and homes in Europe.

“Brandon was selected partly because of the Talent Identification Program at Duke University in which he took the SAT and scored 25 percent better than graduating seniors,” Brandon’s mother, Denise Appel, stated in a news release. “He was also nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., but will instead travel to Europe with People to People.”

A freshman, Appel is on the football team, plays bass in orchestra and takes honors classes. He and his family volunteer at their church and for area homeless shelters.
