Lindbergh elementary schools conduct patriotic assemblies

As the nation remembered the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Lindbergh elementary students honored their local heroes Friday during special Patriots’ Day assemblies. At Kennerly Elementary School, students invited such personal heroes as parents and neighbors to attend an assembly honoring local first responders and servicemen. Kennerly students’ heroes included policemen, doctors, firefighters, servicemen and nurses. Above, second-grader Brock Barger, left, and brother Chase, first grade, give their dad a hug after Kennerly’s patriotic assembly. Their father is Capt. Todd Barger of the Metro West Fire Protection District in Wildwood.
