Lindbergh earns ‘A+’ on 2002-2003 audit

The Lindbergh School District recently received an “A+” on its 2002-2003 audit report, according to a district news release.

Dan Jones of Dan Jones and Associates CPA presented the report a recent board meeting, stating, “If you were in school, you would get an A+ (for the report). I’m happy to tell you that you received the best opinion that we can give.”

In the release, Jones complimented the administration on having done a very good job of record keeping, and on the manner in which public funds were managed.

“In the past few years, and this year specifically, they (administration) had to do a good job of managing,” Jones stated in the release. “And while you do not hire us as management consultants, we have the advantage of looking at peer districts and measuring the management effectiveness of your administration as it compares to other districts.”

“You as a board can be pleased, and rest assured that the administration provided a real service to the community this year in the way they handled the finances of the district,” Jones added.

Assistant Superintendent for Finance Pat Lanane stated, “We appreciate the positive comments of the auditors. We believe the community has high expectations for the district and we expect to meet those expectations every year, and continue at this level of financial management.

“These are the standards that the board and the Lindbergh community have set for the district,” Lanane added.

While state regulations only require an audit every other year, Lindbergh voluntarily requests a yearly audit.
