Fourteen Lindbergh High School alumni and retired educators have been selected to receive awards at the Alumni Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Two Hearts Banquet Center, 4532 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The Distinguished Alumni Award nominees were evaluated for a lifetime of excellence, accomplishments and recognition in their fields. The 2008 honorees are Wayne Ashwell 1958, Tom Ballman 1988 (posthumously), Gary Link 1970, Brian McKenna 1982, and Terry (Mueller) Rupp 1969.

New members of the Athletic Hall of Fame are Marilyn Pressler, soccer coach; Don Schuchardt, softball coach; Ron Bachmann, 1980, football; Brad Macko, 1980, baseball; Jen Scott, 2002, swimming; and Laura Smith-Turon, 1983, golf.

The awards for Distinguished Retired Educators are new this year with the first honorees being Art Carle, Weldon Cox and Debra Peppers.

This year’s honorees will be introduced during the Homecoming football game, Friday, Oct. 10, when the Flyers face the Parkway South Patriots at 7 p.m. This will be a part of the festivities for the second annual Alumni Homecoming Weekend Oct. 9 through Oct. 11.
