Beloved former teachers, star student athletes and distinguished alumni will be honored at Lindbergh High School’s annual Alumni Awards Banquet Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Royale Orleans Banquet Center, 2801 Telegraph Road.

All alumni are invited to attend the banquet, according to a news release. This year’s honorees include:

Distinguished retired educators

• O. Victor Lenz, Lindbergh teacher, counselor, administrator, assistant superintendent and Board of Education president.

• Yvonne Cole, Lindbergh High School biology and Lindbergh High Flyerettes coach.

Distinguished alumni

• Keith Brooks, class of 1990.

• Stephen Fulling, class of 1963.

• Michael “Supe” Granda, class of 1969.

• Christian Taylor, class of 1992.

• Morris “Butch” Thomas, class of 1962.

Athletic Hall of Fame

• Mark Collier — track, class of 1985.

• Stephanie Droege — track, class of 1993.

• Bob Gaus — golf, class of 1979.

• Mark Giesing — soccer coach.

• John Vorbeck — water polo, class of 1981.

• Mike Warner — basketball, class of 1981.

The reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 and awards at 7. Tickets cost $30 and can be purchased online at

All proceeds from the event benefit the Lindbergh High School Alumni Association, which supports scholarships for deserving college-bound seniors.
