Library receives Blue Star Memorial By-Way Marker

The Cliff Cave Branch County Library in Oakville is the recipient of a Blue Star Memorial By-Way Marker. The Oakville Garden Club nominated Cliff Cave as a site for the marker. The Blue Star Memorial Marker Program of the National Garden Clubs Inc. began in 1945 to honor the men and women serving in the Armed Forces during World War II. At Saturday’s dedication ceremony, from left, are: Jimmie Meinhardt, National Garden Clubs Blue Star Memorial chair; Cynthia Brodersen, Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri Blue Star Memorial chair; Joan Hood, National Garden Clubs Central Region director; Oakville Garden Club President Mary House; and Christine Brust, Oakville Garden Club Blue Star Memorial Committee chair.
