LHS named Leadership School

Lindbergh High School has earned the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Leadership School recognition for the 10th consecutive year.

MSHSAA encourages schools to form school leadership team committees, made up of students, coaches, administrators and others, to promote and teach citizenship, leadership, sportsmanship and respect.

The “L Club,” which is open to all varsity lettermen, assumes this role at LHS.

Athletics Director Mike Slyman said he meets with the L Club monthly to talk about athletic programs and opportunities for improvement. The club also is led by six students who participate on multiple sports teams.

“We participate in various programs that MSHSAA offers to promote leadership among our kids,” Slyman stated in a news release. “I am proud of all of our athletes for taking good sportsmanship seriously and earning this recognition year after year.”

Only four schools statewide have earned the Leadership School recognition all 10 years.
