Lembke doesn’t have to adjust any of his stances, letter writer says

Re: “Jim Lembke prevails over Joan Barry in state Senate race,” which was published Jan. 8 as one of the Call’s top ten stories of 2008.

In response to the referenced article, last paragraph, I submit the following comments in opposition to your supposition.

“A 76-vote margin of victory” is a victory. Consequently, Mr. Lembke does not have to adjust any of his stances to represent the district.

In my opinion, if the vote margin were reversed, Ms. Barry would not adjust her stances to represent the district.

This is why we have elections.
