Twelve south county teachers were honored last week at the Lemay Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual Outstanding Educator Recognition Night.

The teachers, recognized for professional excellence and dedication to youth, include: Cheryl Calcaterra of Hancock Elementary, Beverly Giamanco of Notre Dame High School, Kristin Dodd of Mehlville Senior High School, Julie Volansky of St. Mark School, Curt Moore of Buerkle Middle School, Sharon Riordan of St. Martin of Tours School, Jason Buck of Hancock High School, Jennifer Pranger of Beasley Elementary School, Jenny Kirchhofer of Forder Elementary, Celeste Pounds of Bierbaum Elementary, Teresa McConnell of Hancock Middle School and Ken Horvath of Green Park Lutheran School.

“The Lemay Chamber of Commerce values the school/business partnership and recognizes the important job teachers do to educate and motivate our future business leaders,” said Barbara Hehmeyer, chamber executive director. “This award is our way of saying thank you to these teachers who have a demanding and difficult task.”

Each honoree received a $100 gift certificate for classroom supplies from Montgomery Bank, the event sponsor.
