Last year’s presidential election was ‘momentous,’ this reader writes

To the editor:

It goes without saying the 2020 presidential election was a momentous election. Today’s American children will live with the consequences.

I am a supporter of former President Trump because of his stand on immigration. President Joe Biden has said he will tear down the wall and he will end the policy of asylum seekers having to wait in Mexico.

I fear a never ending wave of asylum seekers will be crossing the border.

According to the 1967 United Nations protocol people crossing into another country have the right to claim asylum and have a court hearing.

How will the US accommodate the thousands of people from around the world who have their sights set on getting into the US? For the sake of America’s young people, I hope our next president retracts his statements on immigration.
