Last day of filing for April 4 election brings many new faces to the ballot

With the exception of one aldermanic seat in Crestwood and all three aldermanic seats in Green Park, municipal and school board incumbents will face challengers in the April 4 election.

Filing for municipal seats and school board seats up for election April 4 ended Jan. 17.

Aldermanic seats are up for election in the cities of Crestwood, Green Park and Sunset Hills next spring. In addition, the posts of mayor and collector are up for election in Sunset Hills.

Two seats on both the Lindbergh and Mehlville boards of education also are up for election April 4.

Crestwood

Aldermanic seats held by Richard La-Bore of Ward 1, Tim Trueblood of Ward 2, Don Maddox of Ward 3 and Joe O’Keefe of Ward 4 are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

Due to term limits, LaBore and True-blood are ineligible to seek re-election.

Two candidates have filed for the Ward 1 seat — Richard Bland, 9609 Cornish Drive, and Darryl Wallach, 1004 Briarton Drive.

Two candidates have filed for the Ward 2 seat — Thomas Ford, 569 Joshua Drive, and Chris Pickel, 1360 Raycrest Lane.

Gregg Roby, 9126 Buxton Drive, has filed for the Ward 3 seat.

Two candidates have filed for the Ward 4 seat — Steve Nieder, 9131 Cherry Brook Lane, and Charles E. Berry, 9522 Banyon Tree Court.

Wallach, Ford and Nieder were identified as members of the Crestwood Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility in a handout distributed by the citizens’ group at the July 12 Crestwood Board of Aldermen meeting.

Green Park

Aldermanic seats held by Judy Betlach of Ward 1, Jackie Wilson of Ward 2 and Fred Baras of Ward 3 are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms. All three have filed for re-election.

Sunset Hills

Seats held by Mayor Jim Hobbs and Collector Thomas Fleer are up for election. Both have filed for re-election. John Hun-zeker, 12741 Weber Hill Road, also has filed for the mayoral seat.

Aldermanic seats held by John Tipton of Ward 1, John Smith of Ward 2, Robert Brockhaus of Ward 3 and A. Ron Kaem-merer of Ward 4 are up for election. All four have filed for re-election.

Also filing were: Franklin A. Hardy, 421 Rayburn Ave., and Douglas J. McGuire, 12501 Maret Drive, Ward 1; Thomas Hrastich, 9255 Birch Tree Lane, Ward 2; Lynn David Flowers, 9930 Meppen Drive, and Stephen M. Webb, 11948 Lombardy Lane, Ward 3; and Roger Wilke, 9839 Leb-anon Greens Drive, and Frank Gregory, 9811 Eagle Crest Court.

All of the Sunset Hills seats up for election carry two-year terms.

Lindbergh

Board of Education seats held by Vice President Kenneth Fey and Barry Cooper are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms. Fey has filed for re-election.

Also filing were: Janine M. Fabick, 33 MacLane Court; Rebecca Soeder, 9624 An-tigo Drive; and Bill Klostermann, 10712 B Wrenfield Drive.

Mehlville

Board of Education seats held by Vice President Bill Schornheuser and Secretary Mike Heins are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms. Both have filed for re-election.

Also filing were: Mark Counts, 6901 China Lake Court; Micheal Ocello, 6161 Clifton Oaks Place; Tom Diehl, 5826 White Pine Drive; and Theresa (Saunders) Kleusch, 5443 Hollow Oaks Drive.
