Kermit B. Brannum, 76, died Nov. 25 at St. Anthonys Medical Center.
Born in Hornersville, Mr. Brannum resided in Lemay.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Prairie during World War II.
He was a member of the Meridian Lodge No. 2 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of St. Louis 32nd Degree and Zion United Methodist Church; a former member of the Lafayette Park United Methodist Church; and a scouting commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alma Brannum (nee Buckner); daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Steve Inman, Linda and Jerry Scott, Cyndy and Jack Dohr, and Debby and Jim Fry; sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Jeanine Brannum, Kermit and Rhoda Brannum, and David and Cathy Brannum; brother and sister-in-law, Weldon and Francis Brannum; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Lonnie Kitchen; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Brannum was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister and a grandson.
Services were at Zion United Methodist Church. Visitation was at Hoffmeister South County Chapel. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
