Kenneth C. Kolwyck, 63, died Sept. 14.
Mr. Kolwyck was employed in the private sector as a chemist. He began a second career roughly 10 years ago when he began teaching science at Oakville Senior High School.
He was well-respected in his position, according to Mehlville School District Superintendent Terry Noble.
I saw him as someone who was highly supportive of this district, of our kids, the Board of Education, the administration, Noble said. He was a real positive influence on our district.
Not only are we going to miss him as a professional but as a friend, too. We offer our condolences to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Carrol Kolwyck; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Jimmy Talamantez; sons and daughters-in-law, David Clark and Carrie Kolwyck and Matthew Aaron and Michelle Kolwyck; mother, Gertrude Kolwyck; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Dixon; and four grandchildren. Mr. Kolwyck was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Kolwyck.
Visitation was at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory. Services were at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery.
