Kennerly students read to homeless dogs

Jessica Dimitro’s fifth-grade Kennerly Elementary School class recently read books to homeless dogs as part of the Humane Society of Missouri’s Shelter Buddies program. Reading to dogs reduces their anxiety, making them more adoptable, and helps children grow more confident. Above, Nicole Thomas reads a dog a book about former Humane Society puppy Trooper.
