Four members of the Oakville Junior Tiger Wrestling Academy recently won Amateur Athletic Union state wrestling championships at the AAU state meet at Northwest High School.
Luke Lowry, Shane Frederick, Ryan Killoran and Zach Melber were champions of their respective weight divisions. Lowry, Killoran and Melber also won the AAU Triple Crown, awarded to winners of the season’s three largest tournaments — the Ozark Challenge, the Missouri Challenge and the state championship.
In addition, Lowry and Melber were honored by the St. Louis Wrestling Officials Association as the Bantam and Cadet Division Rookies of the Year. They are the first-ever recipients of this prestigious award in the history of the Oakville Junior Tiger Wrestling Program.
