Mehlville School District high school journalists captured 14 awards at the recent Sponsors of School Publications of Greater St. Louis annual spring conference at Webster University, according to a school district news release.

Oakville Senior High School Tiger Paw staff members earned five awards in the yearbook contests:

• Stefanie Farasy, Kristin Hug and Kathryn Jacob were honored with a Best of Show Award in Yearbook Sports Design.

• Kyle Icenhower, Anthony Vitale and Dannah Basgall received an Excellent Award in Yearbook Sports Design.

• Caroline Schmidt, Kristin Robben and Melaina Demsko earned an Excellent Award in Yearbook Student Life Design.

• Stephanie Knierim garnered an Excellent Award in Yearbook Photography.

• Knierim, Robben and Andy Frederich received an Honorable-Mention Award in People Design.

Oakville’s Prowl staff members also received five awards:

• John Fleming won an Excellent Award in Newspaper Opinions Design.

• Jake Pittroff earned an Excellent Award in Newspaper Sports Design.

• Anthony Vitale captured an Excellent Award in Newspaper Sports Writing.

• Jackie Rohlmann earned an Honorable-Mention Award in Newspaper Opinions Writing.

• Rob Leavell received an Honorable-Mention Award in Newspaper Feature Design.

Mehlville Senior High School Student Prints staff member Jessica Rapp earned a Superior Award in Newspaper Feature Writing and an Honorable-Mention Award in Newspaper Opinion Writing. Dong Nghi Huynh captured an Honorable-Mention Award in Newspaper Feature Writing.

Oakville’s Tiger Paw received an Excellent Rating in the Overall Yearbook category.

In the Overall Newspaper category, Oakville’s Prowl and Mehlville’s Student Prints each earned an Award of Merit.
