John F. Walsh

John Francis Walsh, 60, Kirkwood, died Feb. 2.

Lt. Walsh died on duty of a massive heart attack serving as watch commander for the Crestwood Po-lice Department.

Lt. Walsh was a police officer in the St. Louis metropolitan area for more than 33 years.

Survivors include his mother, Frances M. Walsh; brother, Robert D. Walsh; nieces and nephews, Madeline C. Walsh, Suzan M. Rawn, Matthew J. Walsh, Christine A. Perry; and former wives, Dolly Walsh and Vita Walsh.

Lt. Walsh’s wish was that his body be donated to the St. Louis University Medical School so that others may benefit even in his death.

A memorial Mass was Feb. 7 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Crestwood.

The family requests that all memorials and donations be made to St. Louis Backstoppers.
