Jeanne B. Crews (nee Brader), 85, died Jan. 11.
Mrs. Crews was born April 7, 1929. She was a proud educator for nearly 50 years. She taught in the Mehlville School District for 42 years, and more recently at St. Charles Community College.
Mrs. Crews was the Missouri State Teacher of the Year in 1984 and was active in the National State Teachers of the Year.
She was a professional storyteller, contributing to the St. Louis Gateway Storytellers.
Mrs. Crews belonged to the South County Kiwanis Club and was instrumental in promoting and implementing the clubs educational programs, particularly the Terrific Kids of the Month.
Her legacy is inspiring children and educators in the St. Louis area.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Judy Griffin, Kathie and Ahmed Khalifa and Janet Crews; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Crews.
Visitation and services were at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, south county.
Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
