St. Louis County will offer J.B. Blast 2009, a patriotic celebration, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Jefferson Barracks Park, 533 Grant Road.

The event is free and open to the public. It will feature a fireworks show and music by the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America’s Hot Brass.

Burgers, hot dogs, sno-cones, soft drinks and other food will be available for purchase. Guests also are welcome to bring their own refreshments, as well as lawn chairs and blankets.

Event sponsors include County Executive Charlie Dooley, Sixth District County Councilman Steve Stenger, the South County Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis County Parks Department and St. Louis County Police Department.
