Kathleen Hughes and James Hudson announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Hughes earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was employed by Liturgical Publications of St. Louis as an account representative. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church and the South County YMCA for more than 30 years.
Her fiancé, Hudson, earned an engineering degree at the University of California-Los Angeles and was employed at Northrop Engineering.
The couple are both retired and met at a hiking club. Both Hughes and Hudson were married previously and each have three children and seven grandchildren.
Hughes is the mother of Kevin Hughes, Bridget Hughes and Patty Hughes, who attended St. Simon’s and Mehlville Senior High School.
The couple plan a June 18 wedding at St. Mary, Star of the Sea in Astoria, Ore.
