
2nd Lt. Victor Huber
Victor Andrew Huber, a 2007 graduate of Mehlville Senior High School, recently received his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Huber had graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a minor in military science from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla the previous day. Huber attended Basic Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2009 and is parachutist qualified.
He completed the Leadership Development and Assessment Course in 2010.
As a cadet, Huber held the positions of Battalion Personnel Officer, Academic Officer and Operations Officer.
On Saturday, June 19, he will begin the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course in Fort Benning, followed by the Army Ranger Course, also at Fort Benning. He then will be assigned to Fort Stewart.
Huber was selected for the Branch Detail Program and will attend the Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course when he is promoted to captain.
He also was selected for a guaranteed scholarship to graduate school between his eighth and 12th years of service.
The second lieutenant was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society, for excellent academic performance in history.
He is the son of Craig and Barbara Huber of Mehlville.
