House emissions panel to hear testimony today

The House Interim Committee on Emis-sions will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today — Nov. 18 — at the Holiday Inn South County, South Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 55.

Committee members will hear testimony relating to the effectiveness of the Gateway Clean Air Program in the St. Louis metropolitan area — how the program serves taxpayers and the value of waivers provided for failing vehicles, according to a news release.

The committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Lembke, R-Lemay, will make recommendations to the Legislature in the upcoming session to ensure the program is serving the best interest of St. Louis drivers and citizens.
