Hospital raises $4,300 for tornado relief

St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s second annual Pauper’s Meal, held in the hospital cafeteria on Jan. 19, raised $4,300 in donations for local victims of the recent tornadoes.

Funds raised included a $1,000 donation from St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Charitable Foundation Physician Ambassadors, a group of physicians whose community outreach efforts provide grants throughout the year to partnering organizations.

St. Anthony’s food service employees served a meager fare of soup and bread to hospital employees and visitors in the hospital cafeteria, for a free-will offering, with a minimum suggested donation of $5 each.

The money collected is being donated to tornado relief efforts to assist residents of Crestwood, Sunset Hills and Fenton – neighboring communities to St. Anthony’s. City officials from each of those municipalities joined in sharing the meal.
