Former state Rep. Carl Hendrickson has been named Republican of the Year by the Tesson Ferry Township Republican Club.

Hendrickson, who twice has served as club president, was elected District 97 state representative in 1994 and served until 2004 when he was unable to seek re-election due to term limits.

He serves on the boards of directors of the South County Chamber of Commerce and the Nazareth Living Center.
