Mehlville High senior Michael Heins recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was honored at an Eagle Court of Honor at St. Lucas United Church of Christ.

Heins, 17, is a member of Boy Scout Troop 824 chartered through the PTO at Washington Middle School, according to a Mehlville School Dis-trict news release.

Among his many Scouting adventures, Heins is most proud of his rock-climbing experience in the foothills of South Dakota and hiking in the mountains of Philmont, N.M., the release stated.

For his Eagle Scout project, Heins teamed with a group of more than 20 other Boy Scouts in replacing a 70-foot deteriorated wooden retaining wall with a block wall in front of Trautwein Accel-erated Elementary School.

Heins is the son of Susan and Mike Heins of Concord.
