Heat advisory extended through Thursday


A heat advisory in St. Louis has been extended to Thursday according to the National Weather Service.

The combined heat and humidity will cause temperatures to reach up to 108 degrees from 11 a.m. Monday until Aug. 12 at 8 p.m. 

The NWS stated the “heat will be dangerous for those outdoors and vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those without air conditioning,” in a press release. 

Precautions include drinking plenty of fluids, staying indoors when possible and wearing light loose clothing when outdoors.
