Gregory Scott Raisch

Died: Thursday, June 16, 2016

Age: 60

A memorial Mass for Gregory Scott Raisch of St. Louis will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 9740 Sappington Road.

Mr. Raisch, 60, died June 16 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathryn (Cathy Rees); daughters, Lauren T. Wulff (John) and Leslie M. Raisch (Bryan Riley); mother, JoAnn (nee Sestric) Raisch; brother Bruce A.; and uncles, Joseph L. (Marianne) Sestric, Robert (Laverne) Raisch and Gregory (Barbara) Sestric. Mr. Raisch was also a loving “Papa” to Aja, Hunter, Kathryn and Hayden. His father, William A. “Bill,” a former Missouri state representative, preceded him in 1996.

Mr. Raisch served on the Bayless Board of Education from 1981 to 1986 and, at the time, was the youngest school board president. Mr. Raisch shared his love of softball with the guys on the Gargoyles team and the Citizens National Bank co-ed team.

He worked in the trust department of Boatmen’s Bank and Union Planters Bank, and most recently worked in environmental compliance for Apex Oil.

Mr. Raisch had a special fondness for the outdoors, camping and canoeing with his wife and daughters.

Special thanks are sent to our “Fav Doc,” Dr. Hon Chi Suen, who gave Mr. Raisch the gift of time with family and friends, and the entire staff at Festus Mercy, who always cheered him on.

He touched the hearts of many with his kindnesses, quick wit, intelligence and his study of history, and that is where he will always remain with family and friends.

The family was assisted by Kutis Funeral Home Affton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Raisch’s name to Open Door Animal Sanctuary.
