The Green Park Chamber of Commerce has named Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors members Aaron Hilmer and Bonnie Stegman as its Man and Woman of the Year.

“The policies of the previous board of the fire district threatened the health and welfare of south county residents and businesses and would have continued to drain the pocketbooks of the taxpayer, if not for the heroic efforts of Aaron Hilmer and Bonnie Stegman,” Chamber of Commerce President James Smoot stated in a news release.

Hilmer and Stegman were elected to the fire district board in April. Hilmer is chairman of the board, while Stegman serves as treasurer.

“These individuals have endured harassment, vandalism and property damage and even the threat of a loss of employment and yet they have continued to deliver on their campaign promise of fiscal responsibility. Their commitment to the community is absolutely outstanding and because of their success, we are now proud to have the Mehlville Fire Protection District headquartered in the city of Green Park,” Smoot stated.

Hilmer and Stegman will be honored along with Citizen of the Year, Business Person of the Year and five winners of Young Entrepreneur Scholarships to be named at the Green Park Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards banquet at Bartolino’s South on March 8.
