Marine Corps Pvt. Matthew J. Ginther, son of Fred and Mary Kay Ginther of Oakville, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.
After a 10-day leave, Ginther will report to Camp Pen-dleton, Calif., for further training.
Ginther is a 2004 graduate of Oakville Senior High School.
