Fundraiser planned to benefit USO Missouri

A Crestwood couple is sponsoring a fundraiser next week to benefit the USO Missouri.

The event, sponsored by Pat and Jim Bubash, will feature a performance by Javier Mendoza on Friday, Sept. 18, at The Focal Point, 2720 Sutton Blvd, Maple-wood. Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. and the performance will start at 8 p.m.

Tickets cost $27 and can be purchased at

.

Pat and Jim Bubash sponsored another event in 2014 with all funds going to The Mission Continues. All expenses for both events were paid by the couple with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the sponsored organization, according to a news release.

The two have volunteered for more than 10 years at the USO at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, as well as at off-site events. They also volunteer for The Mission Continues, which was created by fellow St. Louis native, Eric Greitens.

Jim Bubash, a Vietnam veteran, serves on the board with Patriot Packages, based in Warrenton. This organization’s mission is to send appreciation packages to U.S. troops deployed in hazardous locations.

Its goal is to let each service man or woman know they are not forgotten.

Pat Bubash’s 92-year-old father is a World War II veteran who served in the Navy for 20 years. Many of their relatives have also served in the military, according to the release.
