Fund-raiser to benefit Nurses for Newborns

“Boogie for Babies,” a fund-raising event for the Nurses for Newborns Foundation, will take place Saturday, June 21, at Grant’s Farm.

The evening will start with a tram ride through the Grant’s Farm deer park before dropping off the lucky attendees at the Bauernhoff.

Dancing to the music of the Smash Band will set the tone for this boppin’ event. The tax-deductible ticket price of $50 per person includes dinner and beer, wine and soft drinks.

Proceeds benefit the Nurses for New-borns Foundation, a nurse home visitation program for babies serving 29 Missouri counties and St. Louis city.

During fiscal 2002, the Nurses for New-borns Foundation provided more than 15,000 home visits to 3,500 families.

These visits provide physical assessments of the mother and child, as well as teaching infant care, safety and parenting skills. Nurses for Newborns Foundation is making a difference in decreasing infant mortality, child abuse and neglect, a news release stated.
