Freshman receives national Sportmanship Award

Lindbergh High School ninth-grader Kat Rosenberg recently received the top female Sportsmanship Award in the nation for Junior Team Tennis, for showing exceptional character as a teammate and competitor during the JTT National Championships in South Carolina.

Kat competed on the Sunset 14U Advanced Team, leading the team to local and sectional championships, before heading to nationals, where her team placed 15th overall.

During the tournament, each team played five others and at the end of each matchup, coaches selected one boy and one girl who showed the best sportsmanship. At the end of the tournament, the boy and the girl with the most votes from coaches received the Sportsmanship Award.

As No. 1 singles player for the Flyers, Kat had a 14-2 record this season.
