Regarding the implementation of trash districts, how many of those who support freedom of choice are choosing to recycle?
Those who are accusing the government of making decisions based solely on money should look in the mirror. Is your opposition to the trash districts based on the fact that you have chosen not to opt for recycling pickup because of the cost — and will now be required to subscribe to it?
The record of St. Louis County citizens on recycling is embarrassingly low in this era of global responsibility.
The County Council has my full support in making this difficult decision to push forward for improvement despite the outcries of the vocal minority. Your freedom to choose ends when it impinges on my right to a clean planet.
