Free electronics recycling drive set March 15

St. Johns Evangelical United Church of Christ, the city of Green Park and MRC Electronics and Appliance Recycling will sponsor a free electronics recycling drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the church, 11333 St. Johns Church Road.

Accepted items include computers, large and small appliances, and basically anything that plugs into a wall or runs off a battery, according to a news release.

Due in part to a grant received by the St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste District, MRC can accept the first tube-style CRT television free. Each additional TV will be $15 per unit. This does not include flat-screen LCD TVs, which will be accepted in any quantity free.

All other electronics and appliances will be accepted in any quantity for free.

Items not accepted include paints, chemicals or hazardous materials such as smoke detectors, alkaline batteries and thermostats, the release stated.
