Mehlville Senior High School is home to four of the area’s newest Eagle Scouts.
Zack Jones, Chris Efthim, Eric Dundon and Brett Trachtenberg, all members of the senior class, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout through their respective Boy Scout troops.
Jones, 18, hasn’t decided where he will attend college to earn a teaching degree after graduating this spring. He built storage cabinets for the Mehlville High band room for his Eagle Scout project. His parents are Karen and Don Jones.
Efthim, 17, plans to major in business in college, although he is undecided about which college to attend. His Eagle Scout project entailed building a pair of outdoor tables and benches at Buerkle Middle School. He is the son of Carol and Frank Efthim.
Dundon, 18, will study journalism at the University of Missouri at Columbia next year. He built a garden with cedar arbor at South County Baptist Church for his Eagle Scout project. His parents are Gayla and John Dundon.
Trachtenberg, 18, plans to major in accounting at the University of Missouri at Columbia after graduating this spring. Trachtenberg built an outdoor bench at the Veterans Hospital for his Eagle Scout project. He lives with his mother, Kim Trach-tenberg, and grandmother Dee Schreiner.
Jones, Efthim and Dundon are members of Boy Scout Troop 824. Trachtenberg is a member of Boy Scout Troop 585.
