Forum set March 12 for Mehlville Board of Education candidates

The Mehlville School District will host a forum next month for the four candidates vying for two seats on the district’s Board of Education in the April 3 election.

The forum will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the Oakville Senior High School Library, 5557 Milburn Road.

The forum will provide community members with an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their views on issues critical to education and the Mehlville School District, according to a district news release. The free event is open to the public.

The four candidates are: Ron Fedorchak; Mike Wainz, 3508 Hidden Stone Court; Kathleen Eardley, 3515 Cabernet Way Court; and Fred Padberg, 4750 Mehl Road.

Seats held by Tom Diehl and Fedorchak are up for election.

Fedorchak was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy when former board member Micheal Ocello resigned.

Diehl did not file for re-election. He has served on the board since 2006.

Verbal Blakey, who had filed for the board, withdrew her candidacy on Jan. 19.

The Mehlville seats carry three-year terms.
