Five candidates are seeking the county executive’s position in Tuesday’s election.
Besides 6th District County Councilman Steve Stenger, D-Affton, and Rep. Rick Stream, R-Kirkwood, the three others seeking election next week include:
Libertarian Theo “Ted” Brown Sr. He was a write-in candidate for Missouri governor in 2008, ran for county executive as a Libertarian in 2006 and 2010 and was a write-in candidate for county executive in 2002.
Brown currently represents Subdistrict 1 on the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees.
Constitution Party candidate Joe Passanise, who twice has run unsuccessfully for county executive as a Republican.
Activist Zaki Baruti, who organized the Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition, has filed as a write-in candidate.
