Born in Springfield, Mrs. VanAlstine resided in south county.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Vickers, Linda Bieg and Janis Dick; sons, Dr. Carl VanAlstine and Dr. William VanAlstine; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Gene’’ VanAlstine Sr.

Services and visitation were at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, south county. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
