The Mehlville School District’s Proposition S bond issue passed with 80 percent of the vote, as did Hancock Place School District’s Proposition R bond issue. For Mehlville, this marked the first time voters passed a bond issue since 1992. The district had been the only one in St. Louis County without a bond issue to fund facilities. The campaign committee supporting the ballot measure, the Mehlville-Oakville United Committee, posted on Facebook, “Prop S is a resounding victory with more than 80% of the vote. Our community came together for our schools and our kids. Voters, THANK YOU!”
Bonnie Stegman was re-elected to a fourth term on the Mehlville Fire Protection District’s Board of Directors over challenger Fred Baumgarth. She was first elected in 2005.
Green Park Mayor Tim Thuston was re-elected to a second two-year term over challenger Michael Broughton, a Ward 1 alderman.
In races for the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen, Christine Lieber won in Ward 2, Randy Epperson won in Ward 3 and Fred Daues won in Ward 4.
For other ballot measures, the Proposition U use tax passed in Sunset Hills and Proposition 1, which adds a new fee, passed in Crestwood.
