Early Childhood Flyers give coats, warm hearts

Lindbergh Early Childhood Education students recently filled 25 large bags with more than 200 coats, helping to warm up wintertime for families in need. Besides teaching students a valuable lesson about service, ECE instructors also used the coat drive to create several classroom activities. For example, the Bluebirds and Butterflies at ECE West sang songs about winter, talked about how coats keep people warm, worked together to put on scarves and mittens, and matched puzzles with various types of outerwear. Students enjoyed singing this song, to the tune of ‘Wheels on the Bus’: ‘The hat on my head keeps me warm, keeps me warm, keeps me warm! The hat on my head keeps me warm, all winter long …’
