Delba Engelhardt (nee Hartle), 87, died May 17.

Mrs. Engelhardt graduated from Patton High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught home economics at Lutesville High School and Parkway North High School, where she served as department chair.

Mrs. Engelhardt served as president of Home Economics Teachers of Suburban St. Louis and Home Economists in Home and Community.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gene Engelhardt, dear mother of Diane (Matt) Heinicke, the late Jon (Carol) Engelhardt, Elaine Kimker, Mark (LeeAnn) Engelhardt, and stepmother of Rich-ard (Karen) Engelhardt.

She loved helping her husband in his local and international service to Kiwanis.

For her dedicated service, she received Kiwanian Wife of the Year, George F. Hixon Fellow and the Kiwanis International Foundation Tablet of Honor awards.

Mrs. Engelhardt was passionate in her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her maiden name was Hartle. When she married, she became an Engelhardt. She loved having “heart” in both her names. She gave all her heart to her family, and now will always live in their hearts.

Funeral services were at Kutis Affton Chapel. Interment was in St. Paul Church-yard.
