Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
This is in response to Pat Brooks’ Oct. 3 letter on “old-thinking people” complaining that the government is taking away women’s freedoms.
I agree with you 100 percent, Pat, that Jesus said to love one another.
How is that love being accomplished by killing an innocent child in the womb through abortion?
In an Oct. 17 letter, Michael Broughton states that Jan Tucker equates legal abortion to first-degree murder in her Oct. 10 letter. She is 100 percent correct, Michael.
Taking the life of an innocent child in the womb is no different than walking into a hospital nursery and killing a newborn child.
We do not preach damnation for those who had abortion. We seek to help them.
We do not turn a blind eye to abuses of innocent children. All of your statements are generalizations with no basis on facts.
You cannot judge all Christians by the actions of a few.
You say, “Is the science with which we can govern human reproduction not from God?”
God says in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I dedicated you.”
And again in Psalm 139:13, “You knit me together in my mother’s womb. You formed my most being.”
That means a human being from the moment of conception.
Michael, I will pray for you that you change your pro-abortion stance before you have to explain to your creator why you were in favor of destroying life that he created.
