Dan Reuter kicks off bid for Missouri House seat

A local attorney will kick off his campaign today — Thursday, June 25 — for the Republican nomination for the Mis-souri House District 96 seat currently held by Mike Leara, R-Concord.

Dan Reuter, a longtime south county resident, will kick off his campaign from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Dulany’s Neighborhood Grille & Pub, 9940 Kennerly Road.

“… I am running because I am a conservative who wants to maintain our family and faith-based community values,” he stated in a news release. “I believe we must have a small government that conducts its duties honestly and efficiently, not one that burdens and overregulates our businesses and entrepreneurs. I am running to streamline our government and help our small-business owners create the jobs and opportunities that we need for a stable and prosperous community …”

Reuter’s law practice focuses on estate planning and issues concerning the elderly and those with special needs.

Leara, who first was elected to the House in 2008, is seeking the Republican nod for the 15th District Missouri Senate seat held by Eric Schmitt, R-Glendale. Schmitt will be term-limited out of office and is planning his own 2016 run for state treasurer.
