The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for one or more $1,000 scholarships to be awarded late this spring.

A special award presentation to the selected applicant or applicants will take place at a chamber luncheon this summer.

A qualified applicant must be a graduating senior who plans to pursue an education beyond high school and who resides in either Crestwood or Sunset Hills, according to a chamber news release.

This scholarship will be based solely on merit. An application can be obtained by visiting

Applications must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 28. The selected applicant or applicants will be notified by April 30.

Revenues for scholarships will be generated at the sixth annual Casino Royale Gala and Auction scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Orlando Gardens Banquet Center on Watson Road.

These scholarships are based on merit only, not financial need. The top requirement for these scholarships is that the student must live in either the city of Crestwood or the city of Sunset Hills.
