To the editor:
It seems to me Crestwood residents badly need “transparency” and would welcome a clear, simple, unambiguous and true presentation of the financial situation, without any shifting around of money from one account to another — a “shell game.”
Exactly what are the bottom lines for:
Total estimated true resources for 2005 and 2006?
Total estimated expenses — 2005 and 2006 — including financial ones such as services on debt, etc.?
We moved here two years ago, and common sense tells me there are probably serious reasons to worry about the financial health of the city.
I worry about essentials: sustainable “quality of services” and the probable level of taxation.
“Transparency,” anyone? Concern, anyone?
