Coverage of district unbalanced, Ricker says

Dear Call Newspaper:

Over the past 10 months I have scheduled and held exclusive interviews with representatives of your paper.

During those months the Call has continued to portray the district, some of its employees and some Board of Education members in an unbalanced fashion.

Regardless of the situation, or all of the facts, it is apparent that the Call does not want to cover the district with a balanced journalist viewpoint.

Therefore, effective immediately, exclusive interviews will no longer be scheduled by me or the staff of the Mehlville School District. As with all other media outlets, you may contact Mr. Patrick Wallace, director of school/community relations, with questions for our response.

As we have done in the past, we will continue to comply with the requirements of the Missouri Open Meetings and Records Law.

Should you need records or information, please submit your request in writing to Mr. Wallace’s office — (314) 467-5151 — as well.

Thank you very much for your interest in the Mehlville School District.

Tim Ricker
