County parks department presents ‘Oldies by the River’ concert series

The St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation, Friends of Jefferson Barracks and KLOU recently announced the summer schedule for the Oldies by the River 2004 Concert Series.

The concert series will begin at 8 p.m. in the Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater at Jefferson Barracks Park. Gates will open at 7 p.m.

This year’s performers include: Ticket to the Beatles, June 5; Sh-Boom, June 12; Butch Wax and the Hollywoods, June 19; and Steve Davis as Elvis Live, June 26.

Admission is $8 per person ages 12 and older.

Children 11 and younger are free.

Tickets are available at the gate. Low cost concessions, free parking and lawn seating will be available.

Proceeds of the concerts will benefit the Friends of Jefferson Barracks and will be used for improvements in the park.

Also this year, new 10-packs are available to purchase.

A booklet of 10 concert tickets for $50 are available for sale at the gate.

The 10-concert ticket packs may be used for future concerts at Jefferson Barracks Park.

Concert series accepting 10-ticket packs include Oldies by the River, Blues on the Mississippi or Cajun Fest.
